Running River Kennels
Welcome to Running River Kennels

Below is breed information on the puppies we raise.
We sincerely hope that you will find the perfect puppy for you and your
family.

Yorkshire Terrier
The Yorkshire Terrier seems oblivious of it's small size.  This little dog is
highly energetic, brave, loyal and clever.  Affectionate with it's master, but
sometimes suspicious of strangers.  They do best with older, considerate
children.  Yorkies are easy to train, although they can be stubborn.  The breed
is demanding and needs a lot of human attention.  The little warrior is a good
dog for apartment life, not needing a lot of exercise.  Often considered to be a
dog of fashion.

Chihuahua
The Chihuahua is a good companion dog.  Courageous, extremely lively,
proud and enterprising.  It gives and demands affection.  Bold and saucy, it
moves swiftly to avoid being stepped on.  Chihuahua's are strong-willed,
intensely loyal and becomes very attached to their owners, even to the point
of jealousy.  They are intelligent, learn quickly, and respond well to gentle
training.  The Chihuahua is a popular, easy cared for dog.  An excellent
apartment living pet.

Italian Greyhound
Italian Greyhound is very adaptable to both city and country living.  He is
rather luxury loving and enjoys the comfort of an apartment; at the same time
he likes exercise and outdoor activities.  He is very affectionate and he
thrives best when his affection is returned.  He is sensitive, alert, and
intelligent and remains playful until long past puppyhood.  He adapts to most
households and gets along will with other pets and children.  He is eager to
please and learns quickly.

Beagle
Beagles are energetic little hounds.  They are very alert, active and even
tempered.  The beagle is very outgoing, almost to a fault.  He is constantly in
need of companionship.  Unlike some breeds that bond to one family member,
the beagle bonds to everyone, especially children.  Beagles are relatively
inexpensive to care for and require little maintenance.  It's not hard to love a
beagle.  Once you invite a beagle into your home, you have found a loyal
friend for life.

Scottish Terrier
The Scottish Terrier is a small, sturdy dog of good bone.  The color of the
Scottish Terrier can be brindle, wheaten or black.  Scotties thrive as house
pets, happy to be indoors with their family.  They are good canine citizens, a
good neighbor and a well- behaved companion.  Exercise and play wth
training and a lot of love are as important as good food, shelter and health
care.

                             Rhodesian Ridgeback
This is truly a lion-hearted dog. The only breed originating in South
Africa, the Rhodesian Ridgeback was developed as a dual-purpose dog:
to hunt the African lion and hold it at bay, and as a family protector and
watchdog, gentle with small children.
